Bling my Bra – love it

Hi

A few weeks ago you would have seen I posted about Bling My Bra competition.  I am sad to say that I didn’t quite manage to enter.  But two of my lovely students did.

By the strong powers of persuasion, Miss la Belle got the girls to model their entries

There was many great bra entries, tons of pink flowers might I add.  But the winner Anne Aitchison with her bra ‘Come on Boobie Light My Fire’ took out the grand winner title (and an overlocker).  A quick Google search reveals that Anne is a frequent entrant in World of Wearable Arts.  And this bra, I must say was so awesomely executed and put together.

One of the workshops I offer for students prepping for Frolic Lounge, Student Showcase, is a Blinging class by fabulous Amy Jansen-Leen.  Dani had attended one of these sessions, but she is well known for her costuming skills.  She put her nouse together and created ‘Zombra’.  What is better than Zombies and Swarovski crystals and bras?    Isn’t her work outstanding!

Jess entered with her Mardi Bra.  She had made it special for a Carousel Cabaret show.  That would have been hours of painstaking hand-stitching. Well done to both of you – no doubt we have some costume designers in our midst.

The evening was a hit, there’s always a great raffle (of which I won a prize, yusss).  Well done to Jen at The Fashion Workshop for another great event.  I hope to see many more of my students entering next year.

About Miss La Belle

Hi. I'm a Wellington burlesque dancer and dance teacher. I enjoy having a great giggle in class whilst I teach lovely lasses to dance and to enjoy feminity. Vintage dresses and lingerie are my passion. I love chocolate but dislike pumpkin. I love coffee but loathe licorice. In 2010 I won Miss Burlesque New Zealand with a housewife turns pirate act.
